Read Colossians 3:12 – Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
It would be so nice if when we gave our lives to Christ there was some grand way to change us. We have a new position as a Christian, but we still have the same personality. We still have the same powers around us pulling us into the old ways. New Christians have to be intentional in developing new attitudes and dispositions. We should each day put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Christ chose us because He loved us, and He gave us a holy position. Now we must choose His ways because we love Him, and do it with purpose.
