The Prayer Life of a Working Man

Read Nehemiah 4:9 – Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night. (NKJV)

Nehemiah understood that some people were angry because the work of God was moving forward. However, he did not let that stop him. His response to the opposition was simple – he prayed and set up a watch against the enemy. Jesus gave us similar instructions. “Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation” (Matt 26:41). When you face opposition doing the work of God – pray. Also, keep your guard up. Pray for your kids and also be alert to guard against those things that would seek to weaken the spiritual life of your kids.
