The Prayer Life of a Working Man

Read Nehemiah 4:3-5 – Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, "Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall." Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads, and give them as plunder to a land of captivity! Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked You to anger before the builders.  (NKJV)

Nehemiah was working with other people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Unfortunately, he faced opposition. Whenever you do something for God there will be opposition. Nehemiah dealt with the opposition the same way we should. He went to God in prayer. Nehemiah asked God to deal with the situation. When you face opposition doing something for God, you put the opposition in God’s hands. Let Him deal with those opposing His plans. Nehemiah kept his focus on the assignment from God—rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. As a working man, focus on the assignment not the opposition.
