Questions from a Wayward Man

Read Ecclesiastes 4:11 – Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?

With all due respect to those who feel called to singleness I think that life was made to live with others. Even the single man needs close companions. The illustration here is that even in lying down near each other, heat is generated. When all a person has is themselves it is enough to give warmth, strength and help to someone else. We are stronger together and weaker apart. If strength is gained by the companionship of people, how much more the strength when we are companions with God? As the writer of Romans said, "If God be for me, then who can be against me?"
