Read Colossians 3:8 – But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
The older we get the grumpier we become. It is a slippery slope to the land of grumps! I heard someone ask a movie star how they looked so young at their age? They responded, “When you get a certain age you have a tendency to grunt as you get up from sitting. It makes you sound old and become old; I refuse to do it.” The older we get the easier it is to just feel irritable. Sometimes we need to tell ourselves to shape up and be happy! The psalmist was always talking to himself in encouragement. Do the same and tell yourself you are going to be happy today. Find some things to laugh about. You have to fill your life with joy, happiness and fun so irritability has no place to live. Whatever you are full of will be what spills out when you are tipped.
