HonorBound Devotion: March 3, 2010
Read James 1:12 – Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
There are two options a man can take in a trial. He can fail in it or he can persevere through it. There are times that sitting out sounds preferable to fighting the fight of faith. Sitting out, quitting, stopping or giving up is not going to help us reach God’s goals for our lives. Each man is a link to other men. We honor those who came before us by fighting the fight they fought. We also lift faith in the eyes of the men around us and those who come after us as we persevere in our fight of faith. The man who understands the fight finds no options in quitting. For the man of God, the fight of faith is limited to one option and that option is to persevere.
