HonorBound Devotion: February 3, 2010
Read 1 Samuel 17:51 – David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine's sword and drew it from the scabbard. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran.
Every generation needs a hero to move them from fear to faith. Our history is full of such men who conquered the Goliaths of their culture so that others could find faith. Paul the Apostle, Simon Peter and the other apostles infuse us with faith for our day. Men like D.L. Moody and Billy Graham have turned whole communities to faith with their fearlessness over evil. Never let the frightening shouts of a Goliath keep you from believing that God has not run out of men whose faith is louder than the threat!
