Greatest Honor

Read James 1:1 – James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.

James, who is presumed to be the half brother of Jesus, is calling himself a “servant!” The same man who found it difficult to believe in his brother while alive finds joy in being His servant after His resurrection! To be a servant of Christ is greater than to be the king of a country, owner of a multi-billion dollar organization or free from every entanglement of this world. It is not a title, it is a position! In the world’s system honor is found in climbing in power, in the Kingdom of Christ honor is found in kneeling! To be a servant is to be owned by the one you serve! It is the greatest honor of any man to serve the Lord of lords and the King of kings!
