Read Nehemiah 9:20-21 – You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing; their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell. (NKJV)
Nehemiah understood that not only had God taken care of the people spiritually, He also provided for their physical needs. This prayer is a testimony of the goodness of God. While we work to provide for our families, remember it is God who makes it all possible. My prayer times should ALWAYS include thanksgiving to God for taking care of our physical needs. It is the Lord who gives the power to gain wealth – to provide for our families and their material needs (See Deut 8:18). Give thanks to Him.
